I recently did a post on my relationship with printers, and HP South Africa have been nice enough to provide me with one to give away here. It is the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4645 2- All-in-One Printer which goes for the RRP of R1,599 in South Africa. A great printer for home or small business, it is web-connected, which means you can:

  • ePrint – print by emailing to your printer’s email address, as long as it is connected
  • Apps – can print from smartphone or tablet using HP All-In-One Remote app or access digital content through the printer’s control panel
  • ePrintCenter – use any web browser to access printer status, manage settings and print apps, etc
  • Wireless – can print wirelessly from the vicinity of the printer without a wireless network

HP state that other features/specifications include:

  • Print speed – 8.8 pages per minute in black and 5.2 pages per minute in colour
  • Print cost – up to two times the pages for the same cost.
  • Scan/Fax/Copy – Load stacks of papers using the built-in 35-sheet automatic document feeder
  • Photographs – print borderless, lab-quality photos

I have been using one in my home office for about two months and I can comfortably state that I haven’t had any issues with it.

To enter, please state in the comment section below what you would use the HP printer for and you will be entered into the draw. Please note that the competition is only open to residents of South Africa and, obviously, if you work for HP or their affiliates, it would be unfair if you entered. The competition closes at midnight on Monday, September 15th, 2014. The winner will either be randomly picked out of a hat by one of my children or using random.org, depending on the number of entries. Also included in the prize will be a pack of ink and some photo bringing the total value to about R3000.

I would print what seems to be 100 university assignments – in the process cutting costs of printing at other facilities outside of the comfort of my own home!

The printer would be of good use for my academic work. Printing from the local internet cafe has been crippling me and time consuming in some instances.

I’m an unemployed graduate who is actively searching for a job. I would use the HP printer to scan and fax my documents to job recruitement agencies and advertisers , it would save me time and money of going to the internet cafe where printing, scanning, photocoping and emailing is quite costly. I would also assist other people who are in need of printing, scanning and emailing in my neighbourhood so they won’t have to go as far as to town to have excess to such.

I would use it for my small business as much as I am the paperless kind of guy – not everyone else is and it can get a little bit expensive or either you wait for everyone to leave work to print those documents. Having a printer at home can save me time because if I make a mistake i have to reprint the document and sometimes you dont have the time to do so.

I’d use the HP printer to print out my assignments as I struggle all the time, where I have to go to print out on due dates and due to financial problems too. And most importantly, I’d use it to print out my first manuscript, yes you heard me, my first manuscript. I’ve been postponing it due to insufficient funds to print out all those pages, even to buy a printer. Thank You for this opportunity.

Clearly the universe is hinting I should get this. Recently launched my kiddies party decor business without funding and a printer at home would work wonders for personalizing the decor. Creating party pack stickers, printing my flyers, bunting and name pieces.

I would really like to win this printer. I have recently pursued my own business. Which designs and creates personalised wedding and event stationery. I am super excited and extremely passionate about I do. The only challenge is that I don’t have a printer at home and I always have to go to print shops to print.

    Hi,

I am in the process of building an empire and it needs all the funding and assets my 9-5 can provide. This particular Printer will be used to print out invoices for my prospective clients.
