Snoop’s Reincarnated

Snoop Lion's new reggae album Reincarnated has been posted online to live stream until the release of the album next week. I have said before I'm not sure how I feel about this reincarnation but I suspect this is one of those albums that will need multiple listens and a fresh, unbiased view. For example, with Lighters Up, while I am feeling the production, I would have loved it more as simply a Mavado and Popcaan track. On the other hand, I'm definitely feeling So Long. Snoop: Here Comes The King

So Snoop Doggy Dogg became Snoop Lion last year as part of a religious awakening in which he's said to have embraced Rastafarianism. He's shot a documentary called Reincarnated detailing this new path and the recording of his reggae album of the same name. Bunny Wailer is said to have called him a fraud. Rohan Marley has defended him. Guess this is one of those situations where time will tell. Snoop has always been adept and evolving with the times to stay relatively relevant, from Death Row to No Limit and beyond.
