Morgan Freeman:
As the war between light and darkness continues
Heros and villans become harder to identify.
Kindred spirits separated at birth fighting for their place in time to be solidified
The clock ticks faster and faster while time runs the marathon in this Babylon
But see the end is only the beginning, the beginning of the calm before the storm
While Bobby Ray Simmons Jr, also known as hip hop artist B.O.B., has only just released his second studio album, Strange Clouds, he has built a strong following with a series of mixtapes starting with the 2007 The Future.
B.O.B.:

His debut album B.O.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, released in April 2010 was a refreshing album. B.O.B. came across as honest and willing to explore the depth of his creativity without trying to appease the ‘money’ people. Nothin’ On You, featuring Bruno Mars, Airplanes featuring Hayley Williams, and Past My Shades featuring Lupe Fiasco were all catchy, reflective songs that resonated with many. Personally, it was one of my favourite albums that year.
B.O.B:
And it seems like in the grand scheme of it all / the world run by few people and we never seen them at all
how do they exist if we don’t know who they are / they could be you they could be me
they could be queens and gods / some say they were slaves and alien race created us all / from a distant star
some say through evolution we evolved / and if anything what you fin to see is a change don’t be alarmed
and who ever they are / well I think that its time that we start taking charge
fuck rules fuck boss / you can be whatever you want / you can be a star with a car
with a house made out of gold / in the springs on the ???? / you could never see it all
if you don’t know what I mean / have you seen Niagara falls / man I swear this world is ours
but I just been pushed to far / now I be beastin up on these bars / ???? got a beat and I beat it up raw
good god if I go this hard / by the time im 90 / I won’t need Viagra nah / even if I had a dog
I be the K9 ill have the bark / better watch out when you cross my yard
I am the flame I am the spark / I am in drive while im in park
look at my shot look at the ark / look at the crowd as soon as I start
look in they eyes and look in they hearts / 2 middle fingers straight at the law
Sincerely yours so pray to your lord cause this is a war aint talking bout bullets or swords
UFO’s don’t make any noise / when I travel in hyper speed

His second album kicks off with Bombs Away, featuring Morgan Freeman, and it is epic. It is close to perfect, both lyrically and musically, while also being thought-provoking and actually engaging in thought beyond the punch line driven, money fuelled and consumeristic ‘music’ that seems to be preferred by mainstream media.
Overall, I love that B.O.B. doesn’t limit himself in terms of subject matter, flow and production style. While songs like Ray Bands fall short, for me, the good stuff more than makes up for it. He does feature quite a few people on the album including Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, T.I., Taylor Swift and Trey Songz.

Morgan Freeman:
As the mask of deception falls off the face of humanity
Unveiling the grim reality of duality in which everyone is a casuality…. No one will be exempt.
Truth has many shades, it’s not a matter of black and white but gray
Although many we are one, So In the final analysis –could it be we’re fighting a war that can’t be won?
