LIFE WITH KOJO BAFFOE
From October 2016 to August 2019, I hosted the talk show Life With Kojo Baffoe on Kaya FM. Life With Kojo Baffoe navigated the nooks and crannies of every aspect of life from the frivolous to the serious. It was a manifestation of the random things that go through my mind and the people and stories behind those thoughts. It is about being naturally curious, engaged and interested.
Over the years, I talked to a cross-section of people from a wide range of sectors. I chatted to Hugh Masekela about his time with Fela Kuti, hosted live poetry shows, hung out with Tortured Soul and Elements of Life, explored the archiving of African history and heritage, looked at the birth and evolution of the African comic book industry, and tackled renewable energy and cybersecurity.
ABSA HABARI
Absa’s Habari is the Group’s internal magazine that is distributed to over 38,000 employees in 12 African countries, as well as representatives in the US and the UK. In 2019, Apprentice Valley/Altivex Foundry was contracted to publish it digitally and developed it as an online portal.
From September 2019 to July 2020, I was responsible for editorial for Absa’s internal magazine Habari as part of the Apprentice Valley team tasked with developing, designing and putting out the digital portal/publication.
As editorial lead, I was responsible for:
- Developing the alternate monthly editorial plan, including identifying stories
- Identifying writers (continentally) and briefing writers
- Editing all submissions
- Bringing an editorial eye to design, image selection, etc
- Writing of select stories
